Welcome to The Mercy House Counseling Center

Mercy House Counseling Center is a safe place  for the old and young, parents, children and adolescents, and senior citizens of our community.

We offer counseling, teaching,  knowledge, and encouragement to help families live happy, healthy lives.  Mercy House Counseling Center’s staff has been working with individuals and families for more than a decade to help individuals and families.

The following are a few of the diagnoses in which we specialize for adults, adolescents, and children:

  • Autism
  • Asperger's
  • ADD/ADHD
  •  Bipolar
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Life changes the elderly and their families face
  • Chemical Dependence
  • Children and Adult Children of Alcoholics
  • Sports Medicine Challenges
  • Rehabilitation Counseling for the young and old

We also assist  single parents, divorced parents, and  families with biologically unrelated members living in the same household  to lend a hand and heart to provide help that each of these unique families experience.

We talk with children and parents to help them gain the skills they need to appropriately parent and communicate effectively with each other.  Most parents want their children to behave appropriately with their friends, in school by making good grades, and by doing what they are asked to do at home.  Most children need good parenting to know how to act in these situations.

Many children and parents simply don't know how to do these things without some assistance.  We help parents and children be successful.

In addition, we provide counseling and support to adults who may be helping their senior citizen parents with decisions about when living along may not be the most beneficial .  We assist families in deciding when the right time is for the senior citiziens to move in with the adult children, find assisted living, determine when retirement facilities are needed, and other matters that these families may need counsel and advice regarding.   In an effort to help these families and their parents when the time comes to deal with these questions about life changes, our stafff counsels, works with other health care providers, and suggests additional  agencies who may help your family through these times.

We value your time and would appreciate and respect the trust you would place in us to provide counseling  to you and your family.  Our counseling  support is determined by your needs and our abilities.  What you expect and need determines how we help you.  We consider you to be the expert on your life  and what you need.  Our responsibility is to be respectful  and provide our expertise and counsel to help you solve the problems you experience.

Thank you for visiting us!  Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.  We look forward to providing you with the services you need.  For a complete resume of Gena Tidwell, visit her LinkedIn profile.
